hey there, it’s adrian.
amy tells me some of you “might-be campers” are concerned you may not have enough “one -on-one face time” with us big rock stars.
fear not! tony and pat and I agree that making ourselves available to everyone throughout our camp is one of the most important aspects.
in fact, I can’t wait to sit around a bonfire and listen to more of tony’s tales of the road. he has some great ones!
all of our meals will be communal and our evening drinks will be shared with you as well.
this should present many opportunities for chit chat.
and during our classes everyone will be encouraged to ask questions, which is certain to lead to one-on-one encounters.
I for one am happy to “show and tell” anyone anything I can
and pat and tony feel the same way.

so jump down off the fence and join in the fun!
better to be in the game than watching from the sidelines.

Summer camp.
I think I went to camp once when I was about 6 years old, we made macaroni necklaces, paddled canoes, told spooky stories , maybe roasted some marshmallows. But most of my memories of summer camps must come from movies, like those Adam Sandler types or The Parent Trap (both versions -hey, I’m a dad:-). Untill around 1997, when I went to a summer drum camp at North Texas State. I guess lots of young drummers, especially high school marching drumcore drummers take these camps but for me it was a first, and it was intense.
. . But what we have coming, The Three of P.P Full Moon Camp with Ade, Tony and I should be a uniquely different experience. .unique and fun! I know I always have a good time with Adrian and Tony, even if im sweating bullets to play in 15/8, and I suspect all our campers will go home smiling.

Tony and I are on tour now in South America, (Ade is on tour in Europe), and we are discussing curriculum and want to encourage those who have signed up to give us feedback on what they hope will take place—besides FUN – so please feel free to pass notes on your wishes and we will try to accommodate as best we can.

My cousin Andy just sent this photo, I’m the chubby thug in red, my cousins Andy and Buck to my left and Barbie and Becky to my right . . . we dont look too happy, i promise to be in a much more pleasant mood this time.

Update:
My pals at Vic Firth will be providing plenty of sticks and pads so those at the camp that are drummers, and maybe even some of the string benders, will go home with useful souvenirs. – - – more to follow as details get firmed up.

Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto: off to Argentina

Pat and I are headed off to Argentina tomorrow for some touring.. but I wanted to mention a few things about the Three of a Perfect Pair camp:

We’re very pleased to see all the interest it’s garnered … people from all over, and playing various instruments (at all levels) It’s gonna be great.
We will be staying at the camp, like everyone else – sharing meals, hanging out, chatting and telling stories – so it’s gonna, as my brother Pete says, ‘be a hang’!.
Ampeg have offered a few small practice amps, not only to use for the week, but to be given away (by raffle, on the last night).
Stick Enterprises will send a few new Sticks by, for those who want to try them out, or Stick players with different setups to see some variations.
I’ll have a stack of my “Crimson Chronicles” photo book (of Crimson in the 1980′s) and all campers will get an autographed copy.
I’ve spoken with John Collinge, publisher of Progression Magazine, about him coming by for a day, giving a short seminar on how to present your music to publications for review, and how to layout a good ad. Not carved in stone, but probably he’ll come in for that.
Looking like the Thursday night concert of the 3 of us may be at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, in which case we’ll all bus in for the evening, and eat out there. All included, of course.

We’ll get some more updates as things develop.
